Uniform

The nursery has a uniform of a blue polo shirt and a blue sweatshirt.  It is not compulsory but we find that wearing the uniform enables the children to have fun without the worry of spoiling 'good' clothes. 
Uniform can be purchased from the school office. 
We always try to make sure that they wear aprons but accidents do happen so please dress your child in suitable clothes.
Please ensure that your child has suitable outdoor clothes too as we play outdoors most days or go for walks to the park, library or shops.

Healthy Eating

As part of a health promoting school, we provide the children with healthy snacks each day. 
These may include fruit, vegetables, sandwiches, yoghurt and crackers and cheese.
We encourage the children to try healthy foods. 
The children are provided with water or milk to drink.
Please advise staff of any specific dietary requirements or allergies.

Admissions Policy

All nursery places are allocated in line with Renfrewshire Council's Admissions Policy and the nursery staff are happy to advise you on how this policy operates. 

Registration

Parents are invited to visit the nursery to register their child any time after their second birthday. All information contained in the application is discussed by the Foxbar Area Admissions Panel to assist the allocation of places.
Please note that the length of time a child's name has been on the register will not affect the child's priority for admission.

Arrangements for entry

Children who are offered a place will be invited to visit the nursery with parents/carers.  Both will be able to meet key workers and receive information about Heriot Primary Nursery Class.  Times for starting are staggered to help the children settle and get to know their key workers.

Parent/Staff Group

We have a Parent-Staff group and we meet at regular intervals to discuss matters relating to the nursery class. We discuss matters relating to the curriculum and organise fundraising events.  We do need new members so please let a member of staff know if you are able to spare around one hour per month to help us work in partnership with parents to further improve the service we offer.
